“Development Corporation of Kamchatka” presented to the General Consul of India in Vladivostok investment potential of the region.

Meeting with the General Consul of India in Vladivostok Rakesh Pande, who is on working visit on the Peninsula, took place in the “Development Corporation of Kamchatka”. Investment potential of the region to the General Consul was presented by the Director of the Department of investment projects “Development Corporation of Kamchatka” Michael Kostinets.

Michael Kostinets told Mr. Rakesh Pande about the main aims and objectives of the “Development Corporation of Kamchatka” and expressed willingness to provide for the business community of India all the necessary information about promising projects in energy, mining and fishing industry, aquaculture and other industries, as well as support of Corporation in their implementation. “We are not interested in fact that Kamchatsky Krai was considered only as source of resources. Today we set up very seriously to develop deep processing on the territory of the region, - said Michael Kostinets. We will do everything to encourage promotion of Indian business in order to came on Kamchatka, that Indian business seen here prospects of development”.

General Consul of India in Vladivostok assured that all information about the investment potential of Kamchatka will be brought to the business community of India. “Currently, the trade turnover between our countries leaves much to be desired. The average is about 12 billion dollars a year. The purpose of my study tour was to share information for attraction of the investments and interested companies in the region”, said Rakesh Pande.

He noted that he Russian Far East and India, have significant opportunities in economic cooperation. “It is primarily: energy, metallurgy, heavy industry. In addition, Indian companies have achieved much in the field of high technology, pharmacy, medicine,” said Rakesh Pande.

General Consul added that currently, trade turnover with Russia is mainly through the Western ports of India in the direction of St. Petersburg. “We are keen to develop trade through the Eastern ports in the Russian Far East”, said Rakesh Pande.
