The Ural Center for Monitoring and Analytics summarizes the results of a sociological survey of the Kamchatka’s entrepreneurs. The research covered 230 representatives of regional business. It was commissioned by the Investment and Entrepreneurship Agency of Kamchatka Krai and the Development Corporation of Kamchatka and conducted by telephone survey method.

In the course of the survey, respondents were asked questions about the investment climate of the region, the conditions for doing business and their evaluating of the actions of the Development Corporation of Kamchatka.

According to Julia Kharitonova, the director general of Development Corporation of Kamchatka, it is too early to speak about the final results of the research, but the first results show that the mood of the business community is mostly positive, at least it was so before the introduction of restrictive anti-epidemic measures.

More than 80% of entrepreneurs positively assess the fact that the region entered the TOP-30 of the National rating of Investment Climate in constituent entities of the Russian Federation last year. So we can say that the business community considers the 28th place of the region in the ranking to be a logical outcome of comprehensive work which has been carried out recently in order to increase business activity in the region.

Three quarters of the respondents (more than 73 %) are satisfied with Kamchatka Territory’s results achieved in forming investment attractiveness and creating a favorable business climate. This work was called impressive by more than 23 % of entrepreneurs who participated in the survey.

According to the results of the survey, a significant part of the business community of Kamchatka also positively assesses the timing, accessibility and transparency of the procedures for financial support measures for the entrepreneurs of the region.

The opinions of the interviewed entrepreneurs were divided almost half-and-half with a slight margin in the direction of those who are positive, regarding the availability of labor resources.

The personnel problem is typical for all the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District. The rather rapid growth of the macro-region's economy made the local business face the problem of attracting qualified personnel. But, according to experts, the Far Eastern regions including the Kamchatka Territory have a serious range of economic and social tools to solve the problem of labor resources.

Positive results were also obtained with the assessments of the actions of the Development Corporation of Kamchatka. The number of respondents who without doubts positively assess them exceeds 60%.

Julia Kharitonova noted that the results of the research, containing a number of constructive proposals, will be a subject of a detailed discussion and study.
