Nikolay Pegin and the Yun Jong exchanged views on the development of shipbuilding and repairing in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in the framework of the creation of the territory of rapid socio-economic development “Kamchatka”. The result of the discussion was the agreement to hold meetings in order to identify mechanisms for further cooperation.
In the framework of the project of creation of TASER “Kamchatka” provides the creation of the several industrial and logistics zones of a port type: bulk cargo terminal, international class container-logistics terminal, bunkering terminal and business area (social business center). Some platforms will be established on the basis of JSC “Petropavlovsk Shipyard” and “Сan-canning Factory”. Yet a number of industrial and business area will be located on the basis of the production capacities of JSC “Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky shipyard” in the southern part of the South Bay of the Avachinsky Guba. Also in TASER will enter the territory of JSC “Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky sea trading port”, tourism cluster “Paratunka” and the airport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
The meeting was held in the framework of the Russia-Korean forum 2014, which is organized by the “Russia-Korea Society” and “Korea Foundation”. The Forum was attended by representatives of the foreign ministers of the two countries, the public, the business community, educators and culture. The was a discussion of the recent changes in the political situation in northeast Asia and policy of the Korean Republic in relation to Russia, the Russian- South Korean foreign policy cooperation, the potential of the Russian-Korean economic cooperation and other issues.
