Memorandum of mutual understanding signed between the Government of Kamchatsky Krai, JSC “Rao systems of East” and Japanese Government Agency for the development of new energy and industrial technology (NEDO). The document was signed by the Governor of Kamchatsky Krai Vladimir Ilyukhin, General Director of “Rao Energy systems of East” Sergey Tolstoguzov and Executive Director of the NEDO Munehiko Tsutiya.
The Memorandum provides the construction of wind power complex with three wind turbines with a capacity of 300 kW each in Ust-Kamchatsky district of the region, isolated from the main power system.
The construction of the wind –energy park in Ust-Kamchatsky district is very important for the region. Wind power has already proved its efficiency in remote villages of Kamchatka,- “said the Governor of Kamchatsky Krai Vladimir Ilyukhin”.- The construction of installations allows to solve the issues of energy security, significantly reduce the consumption of hydrocarbons, to ensure uninterrupted energy supply, upgrade base material and energy complex. As part of our agreement with “RAO Energy systems of East” is planned to install wind-power complexes in some of the Northern villages of the region. I hope that the experience of operating plants of Japan in Ust-Kamchatsky will be successful and will allow you to solve the issues of energy security not only in this district but in other localities of Kamchatka”.
The head of the region has designated the successful operating experience of existing wind turbines on the Commandor Islands and in Ust-Kamchatsky village. Only in this village installed equipment has already saved 180 tons of fuel per year.
“The project, implemented in the framework of the signed Memorandum today, not only has a huge contribution to the security of supply of Ust-Kamchatsky, he focused primarily on innovation in the Far East energy sphere. The success of the project contributes to the position of the leadership of the Kamchatsky Krai, which supports the development of the most advanced technology in the region, - said Sergey Tolstoguzov.
Successful testing of Japanese equipment, specially designed for the climatic conditions of the Kamchatsky Krai, the evidence of its operational and economic indicators will lay the foundation for further cooperation. In case of confirmation of the technical and commercial efficiency of wind turbines, “RAO Energy systems of East” consider the use of developed by Japanese companies in other isolated areas of the Far East and Far North”.
Under the current agreement between the Government of Kamchatsky Krai and “RAO Energy systems of East” on cooperation in the field of renewable energy wind/diesel systems will be built in the settlements Tilichiki, Palana, Ossora, Manily, Kamenskoe. Pahachi and Ust-Khairuzovo.
