Major Shanghai investor intends to participate in the modernization of the terminal at the commercial seaport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Between JSC “Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky sea commercial port, one of the renowned  Shanghai holdings and China largest construction company, begins the negotiation about the intentions of modernization and construction of a container terminal on the territory of the commercial sea port of Petropavlovsk. This was reported by the General Director of JSC “PKMTP” Ivan Kapralov.

 

Between JSC “Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky sea commercial port", one of the renowned  Shanghai holdings and China`s largest construction company, begins the negotiation about the intentions of modernization and construction of container terminal on the territory of the commercial sea port of Petropavlovsk-Lamchatskiy. This was reported by the General Director of JSC “Petropavlosk-Kamchtasky Sea Trading Port” Ivan Kapralov.

“We negotiate the prospects for long-term cooperation on modernization and infrastructure development, - said Ivan Kapralov. – Shanghai partners expressed their intention to carry out engineering surveys, prepare the conceptual design and estimate cost of the full implementation of our projects”. In the future, may be signed a Agreement for cooperation. We are talking about large-scale modernization of the existing berths and technical facilities of the port in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to increase mooring lines and depths at the berths up to 14 meters.

The names of chinese companies are not yet revealed- these are conditions of the Shanghai party. It is reported that the holding company is engaged in engineering design and construction of ships, ports, tourism, financing and other investment construction of port facilities and Maritime routes, and civil infrastructure.

According to Ivan Kapralov, it can be called the first real result of the Investment Forum “Far East- 2014”, which was held in early September in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The forum presented the project on creation of multifunctional transit cargo terminal to handle cargo from Southeast Asia to Europe and the United States, which involves major modernization of the port infrastructure. The plan-renovation of existing facilities of JSC ”PKMTP” and facilities of FSUE Rosmorport and the creation for new facilities and areas.

Let us recall that at Investment Forum “Far East – 2014” between the Government of the Kamchatsky Krai, JSC “Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy Sea Trading Port (PKSTM)” and FSUE “Rosmorport” were signed tripartite cooperation agreement. The head of the Federal Agency of Maritime and river transport Alexander Davydenko announced his intention to invest more than 3 billion of rubles in the development of the sea port of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
