Signed in the framework of the Investment forum «Far East – 2014» agreements provide global modernization of the port in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

The Government of Kamchatsky Krai and Federal Agency of sea and river transport in the framework of the Investment form «Far East -2014» signed a number of agreements on reconstruction and development of the pier-port economy of the region.

“These agreements are very important to us. They provide an opportunity to recreate port infrastructure which we need in the future in a connection with active use of Northern sea route and the possibility of creating in Kamchatka hub port”, said the Governor of Kamchatsky Krai Vladimir Ilyukhin. Together with advent of investments from the Federal budget will come and founds of private individuals”.

First agreement provides for the reconstruction of berths № 1 and 2 in the sea port of Petropavlovsk- Kamchatsky. It is assumed that after the reconstruction of the existing piers will be able to transship from 3.5 to 8 million tons of cargo per year. Agreements on cooperation in this area was signed by the Governor of Kamchatsky Krai Vladimir Ilyukhin, head of the Federal Agency of sea and river transport Alexander Davydenko, General Director of FSUE “ Rosmorport” Andrei Tarasenko and General Director of JSC “ Petroavlovsk-Kamchatsky commercial sea port” Ivan Kapralov

“On the construction of the berth terminal and reconstruction of maritime station allocated from the Federal budget of more than 3 billion rubles in full swing construction of the station and design of the berth “said Alexander Davydenko. -  I want to note that our line of 1 ruble of investment from Federal funds on the facilities complements another 5 rubles of private investors. This rate is very high and I hope that in Kamchatka federal money wll serve as a sort of catalyst.

Another agreement signed between the  Government of the  Kamchatsky Krai and FSUE “ Rosmorpoty”, where a third party JSC” Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky sea trading port”, aimed at creating a port and port infrastructure, including federal property, which allows for handling of container cargo in the amount of not less than 1 million TEU ( twenty-foot equivalent units) per year.

“Kamchatka traced consistent, solid and purposeful policy which is aimed at development of transport infrastructure. Not everywhere it happens.

In Kamchatka we have support and understanding of the Governor”,- stressed  the head of the Federal Agency of sea and river transport infrastructure Alexander Davydenko.

The third agreement is aimed at the development of port infrastructure for cruise shipping in the Kamchatka territory.

“We conduct systematic work with key international cruise companies and will make every effort to increase the number of visits for the mutual benefit of all parties”, said Deputy General Director of LLC “ Inflot worldwaid Rus” Petr Parinov.
